If you're searching for the best breakfast in Honolulu, you've probably seen Fin's Bagels pop up everywhere β and for good reason. I took the bus from Waikiki and in about 10 minutes I was at their Kapahulu location. I decided to try everything from their menu. By everything, I mean as much as I could eat β three bagel sandwiches and the avocado bagel. $57.85 total.
What I noticed immediately is the impact this place has on people. I've heard from so many friends that their bagels are incredibly good. Everyone kept recommending this spot, but I never had the time to stop by until today.
This guide covers my full experience β honest review of every item I ordered, the complete menu with prices, both locations, and whether Fin's Bagels lives up to the hype.

My Experience at Fin's Bagels
This morning, I decided I would have breakfast at the popular Fin's Bagels shop near Waikiki. I took the bus and in about 10 minutes I was at their Kapahulu location. They have parking in front for about two cars β mostly for picking up orders β and they're right on the corner, very close to Ala Wai Golf Course.
The counter at Fin's Bagels Kapahulu β fresh bagels on display, chalkboard menu above.
My order was ready in about 10 minutes, so the wait wasn't bad at all. But what I really liked is the energy of the place. It's very positive β a lot of young people, good conversations, and a welcoming vibe. If you're a tourist visiting Waikiki, this is the kind of spot where you can meet people and make some friends over breakfast.
I always pay attention to the atmosphere when I review a place, and I specifically look at whether it's friendly for younger people. Fin's Bagels is definitely one of the top Kapahulu restaurants for that β it has this casual brunch energy that makes you want to stay longer than you planned.
The morning crowd at Fin's Bagels β positive energy and always busy.
What I Ordered
I went big and ordered four items. Here's the full breakdown of what I tried and my honest take on each one:
Kiawe Smoked Brisket on Asiago Bagel β $16.95
Kiawe Smoked Brisket on the asiago bagel β the winner.
This is the one. Smoked brisket, tomato, red onion, Swiss cheese, local sprouts, and chimichurri butter on a golden asiago bagel. The brisket is tender, the chimichurri gives it a fresh kick, and the asiago bagel adds a savory crunch. If you only order one thing at Fin's Bagels, make it this. It's easily one of the best sandwiches in Honolulu β bagel or not.
Avocado Bagel β $15.95
The Avocado Bagel β buried under a mountain of fresh sprouts.
This one came in a clamshell container because it's so loaded it wouldn't survive being wrapped. Garlic cream cheese, avocado, tomato, micro greens from Kupu Place, balsamic glaze, and Maldon sea salt. It's fresh, clean, and filling. If you're looking for something lighter but still satisfying, this is your pick.
Rainbow Bagel with Chipotle Honey Cream Cheese β $7.95
Rainbow Bagel with chipotle honey cream cheese β looks as good as it tastes.
The most photogenic bagel on the menu. The rainbow colors are fun, but the chipotle honey cream cheese is the real star β slightly sweet, slightly spicy, and the perfect amount. This is the one you order for the Instagram shot, but it actually delivers on flavor too.
Blueberry Bagel with Cream Cheese β $7.95
Blueberry bagel with cream cheese β the perfect finish.
Cross-section β look at that purple and the cream cheese ratio.
Simple and perfect. The blueberry bagel has a beautiful purple color with real blueberry pieces baked in. Paired with plain cream cheese, it's the ideal way to end a bagel run. Chewy, slightly sweet, and satisfying.
Why Fin's Bagels Is the Best Breakfast in Waikiki
I've reviewed a lot of breakfast spots across Oahu, and Fin's Bagels stands out. If you're looking for the best breakfast in Honolulu that isn't another overpriced hotel buffet, this is it. Authentic New York style bagels, hand rolled and baked fresh every morning, with house-cured fish and locally sourced ingredients.
What makes it different from other Kapahulu restaurants? The quality of the bagels themselves. These aren't soft supermarket bagels β they're chewy, dense, kettle-boiled New York bagels that rival what you'd find in Manhattan. That's rare anywhere outside the East Coast, let alone in Hawaii.
For the best breakfast on Oahu, you usually hear people recommend the same tourist spots over and over. Fin's Bagels is the local recommendation β the place your friend who lives here tells you about. It's also a perfect Honolulu brunch option if you want something more casual.
If you're searching for the best brunch in Waikiki or the best brunch in Honolulu, don't overlook this place just because it's a bagel shop. The Kiawe-Smoked Brisket sandwich is more satisfying than half the $25 brunch plates I've had in Waikiki. And at $16.95, it's better value too.
This is a must eat on Oahu β whether you're a local or a first-time visitor. Add it to your list.
