Midtown Eats at The Park on Keʻeaumoku is officially open — and Honolulu finally has a food hall worth talking about. Located on the ground floor of The Park on Keʻeaumoku’s Liona Tower, this new dining destination brings together 12 locally owned restaurants and one bar under one roof, featuring everything from fresh sushi to authentic Vietnamese pho to Korean BBQ.
I visited during the soft opening period and did something most food bloggers don’t do — I actually talked to the owners. I sat down with the people running these businesses, learned their stories, and got the inside scoop on what makes each vendor unique.
This isn’t just another food court. These are family businesses with decades of experience, immigrants sharing their culture through cuisine, and local entrepreneurs bringing authentic flavors to central Honolulu — all with free validated parking.
🎉 Grand Opening Day — January 17, 2026

I returned to Midtown Eats on grand opening day to experience the celebration firsthand. The energy was completely different from my soft opening visit — this felt like a real community event.
The Scene:
The outdoor lawn was transformed into a festival atmosphere with a DJ spinning music, kids’ games, and face painting stations set up under tents. After the nearby Kakaʻako Farmers Market closed around noon, crowds flooded in. Every table inside was full, K Park Bar was packed with people watching the NFL playoffs on the big screens, and lines formed at the popular vendors.

What I Ordered:
I grabbed takeout from Ms. Nguyen Banh Mi & Rolls — the Rare Steak Pho ($21.50) and the Rare Steak and Meatball Pho ($21.50) for my wife and me. The broth came out piping hot, the rare steak was tender and melted in your mouth, and the meatballs added great texture.
It was so good that we were craving pho again the next day.

Grand Opening Specials:
FEAST by Jon Matsubara ran a lobster roll giveaway — follow @feast_alamoana on Instagram, snap a photo of your order, and tag them for a chance to win their signature Hawaiian-style lobster roll (ranked #1 in Hawaii!).
Vendor Update:
Most vendors were fully operational with digital ordering screens working smoothly. Boba Bing has since opened and is now serving OnoWaffie fish waffles and authentic Korean bingsu with Dave's Ice Cream.
Two additional spaces remain covered: Dragon Burger and Bonburi — both from Japan — are slated to open in May 2026.

Why The Park on Keʻeaumoku? As one vendor told me: “This is where you find a lot of people who walk past. There’s so many residents in this area, plus Walmart and Sam’s Club nearby.” The central Honolulu location makes it convenient for locals, workers, and visitors.

Ninja Sushi Hawaii
Japanese | Sushi | Poke | $$

Ninja Sushi Hawaii brings nearly 20 years of sushi-making experience to The Park on Keʻeaumoku. Originally operating as Aloha Sushi at the Honolulu airport before rebranding, this franchise has built a loyal following across multiple Hawaii locations.
What to Order:
- Superman Roll — Customer favorite, one of their best sellers
- Tiger Roll — Another top seller with bold flavors
- Spicy Ahi Donburi ($14.99) — I tried this personally. It’s spicy but not overwhelming — even if you’re sensitive to heat, you can handle it.
- Salmon Tempura Roll — Best seller for tempura lovers

Their menu is extensive — musubi varieties (including their famous spam combinations), poke bowls (shoyu, spicy, curry chicken, tempura), and specialty rolls. They also do party platters for holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and Valentine’s Day.
Freshness guarantee: “The fish is delivered fresh daily. As soon as we run out, we make a new batch — so it’s always fresh.”
For dietary restrictions: Staff asks about allergies before making recommendations. Vegetarians can enjoy veggie tempura or fresh salads.
Kids menu available: Simple options including 6-piece futomaki with choice of chicken or cucumber, plus teriyaki chicken with tempura over rice.

Ms. Nguyen Banh Mi & Rolls
Vietnamese | Pho | Banh Mi | Coffee | $$

This vendor has one of the most meaningful stories at The Park on Keʻeaumoku food hall. The boat in their logo represents the Vietnamese boat people who fled to America during the 1970s and early 80s, seeking opportunity and a new life.
“We came here from Vietnam by boat in the 70s and early 80s. A lot of people left the country to go to America by boats. With that, we got here seeking opportunity — and here we are. We bring our culture and food culture and share it with the community where we live.”
What to Order:
- Chicken Pho ($18) — THIS IS THE MOVE. Unlike most pho spots that use beef broth, Ms. Nguyen uses chicken broth — lighter, smoother, and distinctly different from anywhere else in Honolulu.
- Rare Steak Pho ($21.50) — Tender rare beef that cooks perfectly in the hot broth. I had this on grand opening day and it was incredible.
- Rare Steak and Meatball Pho ($21.50) — Best of both worlds. The meatballs add great texture.
- Vietnamese Coffee — Made with condensed milk and very strong. In Vietnam, they drink coffee with every meal, throughout the entire day. Pair it with your pho.
- Banh Mi — House-made, crafted to be different from other spots around town
- Spring Rolls & Summer Rolls — Traditional recipes, vegetarian options available
- 🆕 Chicken Salad ($15.25) — New on the menu. Light, fresh, and perfect for lunch when you want something on the lighter side.
💐 Mother's Day Special — Sunday, May 10, 2026
Ms. Nguyen Banh Mi & Rolls is serving a special dessert on Mother's Day — bring your mom in on Sunday, May 10, 2026. A sweet Vietnamese treat to say thank you. Seating is first-come, first-served — weekend lunches can fill up fast.

“I try to keep it very authentic. Some fusion is OK, but I would like to bring the culture to be very authentic. I want customers to remember that I tried to cook it very well with good ingredients.”

Sadie's BBQ Honolulu
Korean BBQ | Korean Comfort Food | $$

Sadie’s BBQ is a family-owned local business bringing authentic Korean food to The Park on Keʻeaumoku. This is their second location — the original Sadie’s Barbecue Inn is in Pearl City and operates as a full dine-in restaurant.
What Makes This Location Different:
The Midtown Eats location is takeout-focused with a smaller menu and slightly lower prices. Portions are adjusted to be more affordable than the full-service Pearl City restaurant.
What to Order:
- Sadie’s Special Combo — Their most popular item. Comes with King kalbi (Korean BBQ short ribs), barbecue chicken, meat jun (Korean-style battered beef), and mandoo. A sampler that gives you everything — always a local favorite.
- LA Kalbi Short Ribs — Standalone local favorite
- Kimchi Jjigae (Kimchi Soup) — Most popular soup option

K Park Bar
Cocktails | Martinis | Sports Bar | Happy Hour | $$

K Park Bar is Honolulu’s newest sports bar and cocktail destination, officially opened in January 2026. Located at The Park on Keʻeaumoku, this stylish bar combines craft cocktails, multiple big-screen TVs for sports viewing, and a laid-back Hawaiian atmosphere.
Run by the same team behind Ms. Nguyen Banh Mi & Rolls, K Park Bar brings the same attention to quality you’ll find in their food — but in cocktail form. The vibe is exactly what Honolulu needed: professional bartenders, friendly service, and a space that works for everything from catching the game to date night drinks.

The bar features comfortable woven rattan seating, tropical pendant lighting, and rope-wrapped columns that give it a distinctly Hawaiian feel. Multiple large-screen TVs are positioned throughout — I visited during the Sony Open and the atmosphere was perfect for watching golf while sipping cocktails.

🍸 What to Order:
- Lychee Spring Roll ($14) — A mint lychee martini with vodka, citrus, lychee juice, a touch of syrup, double freeze of mint, and ice chips on top. I usually order an extra dry martini shaken with one olive, but this is now my favorite martini. The lychee flavor is perfectly balanced — not too sweet, just refreshing.
- Vietnamese Espresso Martini ($14) — This is special. Instead of regular espresso, they use Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. The taste is unique — strong caffeine kick with rich, creamy coffee flavor. If you love Vietnamese coffee, you need to try this in cocktail form.

What to Order at Midtown Eats Honolulu: Nate's Top 4 Picks
What's the Best Restaurant at Midtown Eats?
After eating at every vendor, my pick for the best restaurant at Midtown Eats is Ms. Nguyen Banh Mi & Rolls — specifically their Chicken Pho ($18). The chicken broth is lighter and smoother than traditional beef pho and genuinely unlike anywhere else in Honolulu. If you only have time for one vendor, go here.
🥇 #1: Chicken Pho from Ms. Nguyen Banh Mi & Rolls ($18)
The chicken broth is lighter and smoother than typical beef pho. It’s authentically Vietnamese and unlike anything else in Honolulu. This is the sleeper hit of The Park on Keʻeaumoku food hall.
🥈 #2: Spicy Ahi Donburi from Ninja Sushi ($14.99)
Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spicy without being overwhelming. Incredible value for the quality.
🥉 #3: Sugarcane + Mango from Aloha Sugarcane Juice ($8.59)
Fresh-pressed and naturally sweet. The perfect refreshing drink to pair with any meal.
🍖 #4: Sadie’s Special from Sadie’s BBQ ($28.95)
If you want authentic Korean BBQ, this sampler plate gives you the full experience — King kalbi, BBQ chicken, meat jun, and mandoo.
Pro Tips:
- Pair Vietnamese food with Vietnamese coffee — It’s how they do it in Vietnam. Coffee with every meal, all day long.
- Ask about allergies at Ninja Sushi — They’ll customize recommendations based on your dietary needs.
- No cash needed — The entire food hall is credit card only.
- Come hungry — With 12 restaurants to explore, you’ll want to try multiple places.
